Nocturnal Blogging: The best type of blogging (freak out edition) :-/

Yes, so it is ummm, very late.

Just woke up a little while ago, can't fall asleep and I am freaking out! The reservation for Pickles birthday party isn't showing online anymore!

The lady called while I was at work and so I called her around 9pm while I was taking my break, called twice actually. No answer.

At least I think it was twice, might have only been once, but I called!

Now the reservation is gone!

I'm hoping I can resolve this in the morning, but if I can't what do I do? 40 something people are coming tomorrow, ugh. Why is life so cruel sometimes!

Booking It This Summer

I have joined Booking Mama's  EW 2010 Summer Books Challenge. The list of books is a great selection but as I was about to head to B&N to pick up a title or two, laying on the floor by the foyer of the house was my book.

First thought was, what in the world is it doing there?

Second thought was, who is reading my book?

So being a great and friendly person, I put it in  my purse and took it to work.

So I have slightly veerd off course since it is Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress." However, I am reading the book so I think I'm in the clear, it's better than avoiding all bought books.

Happy summer reading all!

Funny little thing called time out

As I am typing this my daughter is in time out and complaining. 2 minutes left. The reason she is in time out is because she will not help me with anything and today is kind of the last straw. I just wanted help  putting the sheets on my bed, and she refuses, she even refused to put the pillow cases on.

I am in fear I have raised a spoiled ungreatful brat!

1 minute left. She refuses to clean her room, refuses to do anything.

Time our over. Lets see how this goes. Round dos..

Fabulous and Busy May in Florida!

Life is getting more and more hectic for me! Summer is almost here. The sun is shining. The humidity is high and life is wonderful. Love bugs are swarming and life is good!

I am feeling oh so optomistic with my oh so busy schedual.

My daughters 5th birthday is coming in a little short of two weeks! We're having a big bash at, the one and only, Chuck E Cheese. So far the total number of kiddos coming....drum roll please....21! Ehh, yea kind of sucks but I am staying positive. The parents will be there to watch and the cost won't be too much since Pickles dad is paying for half.

The party is Saturday and it will be packed. When I spoke to someone at the location they said about 5 other parties are happening at the same time and that the time I chose is the most popular birthday party time. Yikes! But I am very very excited. All the people that are coming are friends, co-workers, and some family members. My ex will be there and his family which will be weird since we have not been in the same room since the split. This however is something that needs to happen because its best for Pickle.

I am excited to see some friends and family members that I haven't seen in a while and just very excited to see al the people I love for Pickles special moment. It will make looking back at these days all that much more special.

I have also made some fun plans this weekend even though I have to work.

Tomorrow I am meeting a friend who I will call R at my most favorite place ever! Barnes and Noble. We both have to work so this is something we can do before we have to run and work. Monday I will be very busy! I have a 10am appt at the nursing school for my interview with the dean. In the afternoon I am meeting my two good and older, much older friends for some fun, I really love those girls, and after that I will be meeting my love at 5 to do a little shopping for Pickles day and then we are going to the driving range.

My love is currently obsessed with playing golf and just basically everything that has to do with golf. He shops for golf, practices for golf, and chats about golf. He even bought a new set of clubs and bag. I am looking forward to the driving range because I can't wait to spend some time with him. We live 45 mins to an hour apart so we only get to see each other once a week.

I can honestly say that I am totally in love with my boo and I can't wait to make the next step when we are done with college.
Hope you all are having a great weekend!!!!

Marriage certificate, what is it good for! (For some, absolutely nothing!)

I have been expanding my horizons lately by spending time with more girlfriends and acquatances. Through an acquantance who I will call J, I have met her friend A who is a hilarious woman who is outgoing, hilarious, and self employed. Since I have met her we have met twice at the same bar with J and have become texting and fb buddies. So, not knowing too much about her other than knowing what she does in her free time, that she's married, and about her career I was suprised to find out that she is in an open marriage.

The thing is that I didn't even believe her when she said that because she is always cracking jokes, so I had to verify with J across the table, who agreed, but then I still thought they were playing a joke on me. Apparently not. She said that basically when they were about to get married they both figured that at some point they would cheat on each other, so they agreed to have an open marriage and tell the other when the other cheats.

My new friend also said that she loses a lot of friends and contacts this way. She said that usually when they find out they disappear, stop calling, and even delete her from their facebook! My initial shock of this information was just that, shock. I have never met or even known of anyone personally that is in an open marriage. The closest I have come to knowing about people in this situation is from the morning radio show when they delve into stories about this.

But what is the point of getting married and having sex with others? I spoke to my boo about this and he does not like it at all. I would be way to jealous to enter into an agreement like that. There was actually a bit on War of the Roses on the local radio channel that reminded me about this situation.

If you don't know what War of the Roses is, it is a bit that they do on the radio where the DJ will talk to a spouse, girlfriend, or boyfriend, about their suspicions and the DJ will call their significant other and offer a free romantic bouqet of roses, (they usually pretend to be the persons cell phone carrier, saying its a thank you for being a customer). So this way they see who the person wants to send the roses to, and bam! catches them. It's so funny when they can't make it passed the name, usually the person on the other line goes nuts, sometimes the cheater makes it to say what they want on the card.

But once there was a bit where a woman called saying she thought her husband was cheating, so they call him and the woman freaks out, what she didn't mention was that she was in an open marriage and was pissed because he was having an affair and not  a one time thing and telling her about it. Is that fair? The DJ didn't think so and was pissed for not giving out that information. Isn't this scenerio just how it always will be? The person who is cheated on has to feel hurt that the person they love got so intimate with another person. Right?

What do you guys think about the subject?

Since learning this about A, I won't disappear from her list of acquantances. I enjoy her company a lot when we do things with J. I just think this is just another thing about this wacky world we live in. I think it's a bit odd but if it works for them, then I guess go for it. This is just something that I wouldn't be able to do.

An uplifter

Since the last post was suppose to be about how amazing my Mothers' Day and some how got to why there is life and whether or not I should have kids again, I am posting this! I truly had an amazing day.

Hb's dad agreed to let me have her until Mothers Day this week, which is a treat since she usually leaves on Saturday. I assumed he would want to bring her back on Sunday when I asked how we should do this holiday so he really suprised me with the arrangment that we had. Haylie and I met with my boo and ate brunch at First Watch Daytime Cafe, which I love! I always eat the BLT-E. It's basically a BLT with a fried egg on there. The wait was horribly long but boo suprised me with a bouquet of flowers and a card.

After that we went swimming at his house and played around the mall at the play area. Hb's dad picked her up and me and boo watched Iron Man 2. I loved Robert Downey Jr! He is a big hottie and I have loved him since I saw the movie Only You with Marissa Tomei.

Saturday was a great day too. In the morning my dad took me and Hb to McDonalds for breakfast and then we went to this huge playground where Hb got to play like crazy and burn out some energy. I spent the rest of the day mostly doing laundry and cleaning and then me and Hb watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It's hillarious!

Life is going well. I took the Nursing Entrance Exam today and passed, so now I get to have an interview with the Dean of the nursing school. The interview is Monday and that's when I submit the application with the $50 fee and get to speak to someone in financial aid. I do have good news! The $50 is actually a part of the $18,000 price of the school so then I will have $1750 left to pay! Awesome! lol Oy!

A downer

Happy belated Mothers Day to those out there that are mothers to children, dogs, cats, and other animals, and mothers to their mothers.

You may wonder what mothers to their mothers is referring to so here it is. There is a nurse with whom I work with who has not only his mother in the nursing home he works in, has another lady relative as well. The other day he was collecting their laundry to take home and wash and said we'll I have my daugthers laundry and said good night to everyone there.

This made me think about life, aging, and dealth which has been happening to me a lot since working there. Those topics seem to hit harder when there is a death or dealths.  It's amazing how a place like that can go for months without any dealths and then all of a sudden, two in a day.

Thinking about it that day made me think of questions such as: Why are we here? What is the point? I obviously don't know the answers to that but it also made me wonder, should I even have more children? My boo and I have talked about having another child later on down the road, we even picked out names. Lola and Keegan. Last night as we were watching Iron Man 2 the name Pepper stuck with me. See my boo is a ginger so the thought of having a cute little red haired siren Pepper would be a great nickname, so who knows what's in store for me.

Absolutely Dreadful

I would like to apologize for that messy blog i posted earlier. I was at work, on my cell phone, and had 15 minutes. That's all. Night all!

lpn school dilemna

I am getting and closer to the time where I want to start lpn school. The school that I have chosen seems like has a good program however, I have also researched and contacted other places. There is another school that is a good match and has bonuses like it's been around longer than the one school that I'm talking to, has its board licensing pass rates online with the state dept of nursing but this program is also $7000 more expensive, 30 minutes farther than the other school, and has a harder ntrance exam, and starts 2 months later than my program.

So? Do I stray with the school thats cheaper, starts sooner, is closer, and has an easier test to get in? Thhig that worries me is the fact that the school just has one class that has finished and the state board of nursing website hasnt put up the pass and fail rates from that period yet. Did I mention my school has text books included in tuition? Help.

Where in the World Wednesdays!

Blaming my forgetfulness of blogging on anything and anyone other than me...of course, (lol) I have remembered.. HA! WWW!

Talking to a residents daughter at work this week has this whole cruise thing stuck in my head. She, her mother, and some other people went on a cruise to the Bahamas. While we were talking we mentioned both knowing people who have cruised either to the Mediteranean or through the Mediteranean. So! Of course, me being my normal, I love Europe! self, am in a cruise ship this week on the Mediteranean. I've even told my boyfriend that we needed to start saving because that is the present I want to give myself for finishing lpn school.

All this for 1,099.00 per person for 14 nights...from Spain of course.

Check it out here! The Cruise of a Lifetime!

The Nutty Brunette is back!

All my devoted followers, all 9 of you, I am back! lol. I actually have new followers since I have last blogged (which has been a while) so yay for me!

The past couple of weeks have been hectic for me because I have been putting in a lot of hours of overtime at work to pay for my divorce. News flash! I have actually cancelled everything with the divorce which leaves me with a $1600 credit with my lawyers office. Isn't that just an awesome thing to have, especially when my car decides every so often that it won't start. And  every so often means a couple times a week lately. The overtime that i have worked since firing my lawyer is to be used for my seat in nursing school, to repay my college for withdrawing from my classes this term, and for Pickes birthday party coming up at the end of the month.

My Set it goal for this week is to blog more updates.  I am really excited about finding the right nursing school. I am actually thinking about changing the blog name to something like The Nutty Brunette student nurse, or The nutty Brunettes journey to completing grad school and getting that red bmw series 3 convertable, just to keep me motivated along the way.

Set It Sunday

...on Saturday.

No Set it Sunday photo today, as I am using my cell phone at work. Tomorrow, which is Sunday, will be a busy one for me since I am doing a 16 hour shift.

This week will be a busy and tiring week since I stupidly volunteered for back to back 16 hour shifts. Luckily this is the week I get Pickle on a Wednesday which will help me recover on Tuesday.

I am dedicating this week to health. I have been buying all the fitness magazines lately because of overnight shifts I have been volunteering for, and basically all you do is sit around, read, watch tv, or sleep. So, I always stop at CVS before my normal shift ends to have entertainment through the night.

I am also reading a lot of fitness and nutrition themed blogs, which inspire me to emulate those healthy lifestyles as best as I can. Next week, on Saturday I have decided to do the local walk for lupus with my Pickle. Hopely my boo, or as we have started to call each other, life partner, and fiance, will be able to make it. More on that later.

Hope all is good, and that all of your Saturdays are better then mine!

The Nutty Brunette is going to be a nurse!

I have very exciting news! I found a school that has an lpn program that fits the things that I need, and guess what? The program starts June 9th! It's not official, but Friday I am meeting an Admissions person for a tour and to learn more about the program and the costs. I have an upper hand too because I was an Admissions rep at Everest University, so I know when they are feeding me bull crackers.

Just think, by next summer I could be working as a nurse!

The program is mostly 4 days a week from 7:30am to 3:30pm and 30% of the one year programs Friday's are off. This means that I can still continue to work full time. If I do start in June then I need to look for another job because I need the 3 day 12 hour overnight shift for the weekends. I've already let my employer know that I need that shift before this summer, but there is another girl who wants the same position.

I also have some more news, I haven't had a cigarette in a week in a half. Do you know how much money I've saved in that time? 80 bucks.. 3hat equates to 320 dollars a month!

Set it Sunday 4/11/2010

Hello bloggers! Although it is technically Monday, I can't miss a Set it Sunday! Cheryl set an awesome goal
of writing so many words per day! I wish I could muster enough creativity to write a book. It's hard enough remembering what I had the urge to write about at work hours before I get home and turn on my laptop.

Set It: This week is dedicated to spring cleaning, enjoying the outdoors with Pickle, resolving my issues with her dad, work out a plan for her next school year (as in where will she go since we live in different cities), and saving money.

My ex is going to have surgery the same day I am suppose to meet the lawyer to have everything set up for him to be served. Truth be told, I can't afford any of this. I gave my savings from this year, and am living paycheck to paycheck, which is not a good feeling. I am suppose to pay the $750 down for the hard costs on Wednesday, and start paying the $544 a month for the next 3 months. I need to find the papers with all the information to see if I can get the unused amount of the retainer I already paid and just try to work everything out.

Identity Theft: Who's in the club?

Identity theft, everyone watches the news and hears about how to protect themselves from it and the latest bust they had. Has it ever happened to you? It happened to me! When I was still living together with my husband I got a call from a creditor.

Someone used my information to get Direct TV for 6 months.. How they got a hold of my information is beyond me. The funny thing is that I had all the information I needed to get the low life that did this. I had the address and the time period that used the service and the cops couldn't. I give a big W, for a big whatever!

What inspired this post? If you guess a LifeTime Movie, you are correct! lol. I'm watching Identity Theft: The Michelle Brown Story. Great movie, it stars Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Jason London, and its based on a true story of course!

During my episode of identity theft, although not as crazy as Michelle's, still hurt me. The stress of dealing with the police department, changing your credit information, and red flagging your credit is just something no one should deal with. I hope that person that wanted Direct TV so bad, as to steal someones identity and information, got caught for something else and is suffering in jail.
