lpn school dilemna

I am getting and closer to the time where I want to start lpn school. The school that I have chosen seems like has a good program however, I have also researched and contacted other places. There is another school that is a good match and has bonuses like it's been around longer than the one school that I'm talking to, has its board licensing pass rates online with the state dept of nursing but this program is also $7000 more expensive, 30 minutes farther than the other school, and has a harder ntrance exam, and starts 2 months later than my program.

So? Do I stray with the school thats cheaper, starts sooner, is closer, and has an easier test to get in? Thhig that worries me is the fact that the school just has one class that has finished and the state board of nursing website hasnt put up the pass and fail rates from that period yet. Did I mention my school has text books included in tuition? Help.

The Nutty Brunette is back!

All my devoted followers, all 9 of you, I am back! lol. I actually have new followers since I have last blogged (which has been a while) so yay for me!

The past couple of weeks have been hectic for me because I have been putting in a lot of hours of overtime at work to pay for my divorce. News flash! I have actually cancelled everything with the divorce which leaves me with a $1600 credit with my lawyers office. Isn't that just an awesome thing to have, especially when my car decides every so often that it won't start. And  every so often means a couple times a week lately. The overtime that i have worked since firing my lawyer is to be used for my seat in nursing school, to repay my college for withdrawing from my classes this term, and for Pickes birthday party coming up at the end of the month.

My Set it goal for this week is to blog more updates.  I am really excited about finding the right nursing school. I am actually thinking about changing the blog name to something like The Nutty Brunette student nurse, or The nutty Brunettes journey to completing grad school and getting that red bmw series 3 convertable, just to keep me motivated along the way.

Elementary School Dilemma

Today was a good day! I picked up my D from school and we went straight to the library. That is usually what's on our list of things to do for after school. It's either that, or go to the playground, bookstore, ice cream. I have half the week with my D and I want to make sure I build lasting memories with her which can be hard with work, school, studying, and my boo.

*
The reason I wanted to go to the library was because I wanted to print out the school of choice form that is due soon. Since D's dad lives in the next city over, we gravitated toward a school in the middle so it would be convenient for everyone...which sucks. But, anyway, while we were at the library one of D's classmates was there, so she got to play with him and was busy while I completed the application. Turns out the application was electronic which was both great and scary at the same time.
*

The reason filling out the application was scary was because I was hoping to put D in a closer school to my house. D's dad has other people, such as, his mom and grandmother that drive and pick her up from school. When she is at my house, I either have to do the driving, or my parents do. I don't mind driving for school at all, it's just my parents have one car. So in order for them to pick up D, they would first have to drive my dad to work, which is 13 miles one way, and then drive back home because its in the middle of the pre-k D goes to and then drive the 13 miles to her school there and back, and then pick up my dad from work!!! It's flipping insane!!!

When I was typing in the school we chose I was really lingering at the thought of just writing in another school that is just a little bit closer to me but is still out of the school boundary... I don't know what to do. No matter where D goes, she will not be eligible to take the school bus, which sucks. Blah! I'm still trying to rationalize whether or not I should try to find a way to change the school on the form and just tell D's dad that the school was full. But I don't want to lie, and he isn't stupid either.
*
Another thing that we did at the library was buy 25 cent magazines and children books! What is better than buying a magazine for a quarter? It's an old magazine, but that is something that I don't mind because I stopped buying magazines when I noticed it just made the bill go higher, and magazines are almost more expensive than most of the food I buy.

I am worried a little about tomorrow, or I guess later today. I start work at 2 and haven't been able to find the right scrub color. After the library, me and D went to Walmart for the scrubs and found indigo which looked like it could pass for navy, because the human resources office really emphasized navy, when telling me what color to buy the scrubs in. I buy the scrubs and call this girl that I know who has worked at the medical center for a while, and she tells me that it has to be navy! Crap! So after I drive D to school tomorrow, I am going to have to return the scrubs to Walmart and find another place that has navy scrubs. I really thought Walmart would have them.. oh well.

So! Today is a new and busy busy day. Today I get to pick up my daughter from pre-k because she was at her dads house since Saturday. It's my turn this week for the short week since we split custody 50/50. I live about 20 mins away from her school and probably will have to get gas on my way because my car is used by my mom because my dad has one car.
*
I dont have a lot of time, but so much on my mind. I still need to shower, get dressed, get my d's drink and snack ready so we can go to the library and the park afterwards. After that, when we get home, I have to make lunch and hopefully manage some time to read a chapter for my science class, and get online before I head to that class for an online class that I need to be online on video chat.
*
Our custody arrangement is both good and bad at times. It's good because I get time to myself to study or relax at the bookstore or meet friends for coffee. I'm a homebody though... But our custody arrangement can be bad because after she leaves, I dont know what to do with myself, so usually I just mope around, doing nothing, or study like crazy. But whatever I'm doing, I end up alone at night, and alone in bed. My D has her own room but we share the same bed. I actually look forward to going to bed with D.
*
Tomorrow I start my new job which is about an hour away. Very scared! My car isn't the most reliable transportation, and the work is kind of well...dirty. I'm going to be working in a medical center for the....older generation. I became a cna over the summer because my plan was to become an RN, so I figured since I was unemployed, that it would be easy to find a job, and would be worth the experience.
*
Well, now I don't know if I want to go to nursing school. I agunize about this daily, which is also another reason why I started this blog. I'm hoping through writing I can pin point what I really want to do with my life. I am also hoping with this job I can see whether or not I can stand the medical field. I'm scared. I dont want to worry about this anymore! I just want a career! I want to have my own place (since I split with my hubby, I have lived with my 'rents), have a reliable car, and just live, travel, love, and be happy.
*
When I was with my hubby I was an education major, so teaching is always an option, I have also thought about accounting. I have never taken an accounting class, but I feel the field is better than just getting a business degree, and I like numbers, I like math. Maybe I should become a math teacher! lol. This is difficult. But I really enjoy science, maybe a science teacher? See! I'm crazy.
*
Sometimes I try to not worry about it by thinking this semester just started and and I have until May to figure out what I'm doing. But really I don't because I have to study for the nursing program entrance exam. Ahh! I need help!
